The Position:

We are looking for positive, energetic welders with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce.

Applicants should have the ability to:

•

Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

•

Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.

•

Select appropriate equipment, plan layouts, assemble materials, and weld materials together

•

Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications

•

Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment

•

Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys

•

Apply knowledge of geometry, and understand physical properties of metal machining

•

Weld shrinkage and different welding techniques

•

Must be familiar and practice welding in accordance with OSHA regulations and standards

Requirements:

•

TWIC card - (Transportation Worker Identification Credential); Go to TWIC website for more information

•

Ability to successfully pass the G3 and G4 plate test (consists of a vertical and horizontal weld with LH rods).

•

Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.

•

Minimum 4 years craft-specific experience.
