YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Manager - Surface, you will be part of the Road and Field Operations Department. You will ensure the goals and objectives are achieved while respecting our culture, Health and Safety Regulations and the Environment.
•Lead day-to-day operations for the road and field operation, lead by example and build a safe, and strong employee culture;
•Follow-up of all departmental activities under your responsibility (Ore transportation between Amaruq to Meadowbank (LHT), Fuel and freight transportation, road maintenance, field services and dewatering services);
•Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of road and field operation employees in a safe, environmentally sound and efficient manner, either personally or through subordinate supervisors;
•Develop yearly departmental objectives and strategy aligned with corporation and division goals;
•Lead the development and preparation of the Life of Mine Plans, capital and operating budgets and Operational Readiness Plans for the department;
•Regularly monitor costs, productivity, safety and employee motivation;
•Interact and collaborate with all applicable departments to establish, monitor and achieve production targets, quality standards and optimization projects;
•Set priorities, plan and direct long haul trucking activities by leveraging best available technologies and practices to ensure effective and efficient operations and costs;
•Review and analyze production to determine the sources of variance between production specifications and goals;
•Collaborate and communicate effectively with all appropriate parties, develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operational problems, improve efficiency as well as ore quality;
•Communicate and coordinate with the Maintenance, Procurement Engineering, Geology, and Health and Safety teams to ensure adequate resourcing (equipment & staffing) and procedures to achieve and improve productivity targets;
•Manage the performance and development of direct reports;
•Ensure compliance with Agnico Eagle Mining Polices and Procedures;
•Coach and mentor subordinates in regard to employee relations, safety, environmental, productivity and cost issues;
•Interface with vendors and suppliers to ensure the efficient use of supplies and tools;
•Oversee investigations involving safety incidents, accidents and near misses;
•Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•Technical background in mining, civil work, operation logistics or relevant field;
•5-10 years of experience managing multi-disciplined & diversified teams;
•Experience managing departmental budgets;
•Experience managing remote camp/kitchen activities is considered an asset;
•Experience supervising trade and/or operational teams in a mining environment;
•Coaching experience and training are considered an asset.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

•Schedule: 4/3, 7/7, or 10/10 schedule;
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
