Position Summary:

Gas T&D Construction Leadership is responsible for managing teams directly or indirectly involved in construction or repair of gas transmission and distribution assets. Gas T&D Construction is also responsible for the internal workforce assisting in underground civil, WRO, New Business, compliance and other emergent work. This position will manage a team of coworkers who: Complete planned, unplanned, and emergent construction projects. Compile and complete asbuilt documentation for purposes of asset knowledge management and updates to Enterprise Systems (GIS). Make minor adjustments to achieve the workplan as defined by the Asset & Resource Management ( Communicate concerns regarding scope, schedule, and cost to Resource Management for adjustment. Manage scope, schedule and cost of projects. Adhere to unit cost targets. Support emergency response for both gas and electric emergencies. Inspect & validate work. Supervisors reporting to this position are expected to demonstrate safety leadership and promote a safety culture among all employees for themselves, customers, and the public. Contribute to improving safety, reliability and affordability for the 10K undergrounding program. This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is: ​

Bay Area Minimum: $​136,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​232,000.

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​129,000.

California Maximum: $​220,000.

Job Responsibilities: Responsible and accountable for construction projects assigned to the internal GC Distribution Gas team. Leads and directs a geographically dispersed team varying in size from 30 to 100 coworkers. Ensures that all work in assigned area is completed within scope, schedule and cost, while providing quality service and adhering to safety and regulatory compliance. Manages capital & expense, O&M, and labor budgets. Assesses complex field situations and makes decisions and recommendations for solutions. Ensures a high customer satisfaction by always keeping the customer needs in the forefront of decision making. Identifies and influences implementation of best practices to improve productivity and safety and to reduce operating costs. Partners and pursues integration with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to achieve departmental goals and improve overall business results. Serves as Incident Commander as required. Establishes assessment systems and monitors activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Engages employees in process improvements and acts on their feedback. Prepares, attends, presents and participates in meetings such as general staff, safety, Ethics and Compliance, Labor Management, Regulatory, Ad Hoc, etc.

Qualification: Minimum : CA Driver’s License. 8 years of related business experience including 2 years of supervisory experience. Experience managing capital, O&M, and labor budgets.

Desired : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management, Construction Management, or other related discipline. Experience supervising union-represented employees. Experience in a maintenance and construction organization. Experience directing the preparation of schedules, records, and reports of work progress, future projects, and evaluation of completed tasks. Experience managing employee performance to include recognition and the use of the progressive disciplinary process.
