The Technical Facility Superintendent’s role is to plan, coordinate and manage all activities related to the construction of critical telecommunication facilities and data centers in accordance with contract documents and the schedule. The on-site position requires an understanding of general construction including major electrical and mechanical systems.
- Supervise, direct and coordinate all subtrade contractors to ensure quality, adherence to the project schedule and compliance with the contract documents.
- Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services.
- Develop, document and communicate the work plan regarding the schedule and changes made in the field.
- Ensure that all building permits and subtrade permits have been secured and that all inspections are completed.
- Develop Methods of Procedure to critical work in live environments.
- Ensure critical startup requirements are met prior to commissioning
- Monitor safety performance and verify safety compliance; act as safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of documentation package turned over to the client
- Understanding of proper installation and operation of the following critical building systems:
o Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS – monitoring of electrical systems)
o Building Management Systems (BMS – control of HVAC systems)
- Familiarity and comfort working with MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel.
- Ability to create and maintain a project schedule.
- Ten (10) plus years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on large mission critical facilities, including sizable electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in all divisions of construction, methods, materials, scheduling and cost control.
- Adept at running in person and remote video-call meetings.
- Ability to work independently and a motivated self-starter.
- Effectively utilize computer and software technology in the performance of duties.
