General Description The Construction Supervisor is accountable for the planning (FEL2+) and execution of a discrete construction campaign for one or more projects. During the planning phase based in the Anchorage office, the role provides constructability input to design, reviews and accepts the campaign construction contractor(s) installation work packs, leads pre-mobilization readiness and validates all materials/ancillary equipment needed to execute the campaign are in place through supporting functions. During execution, the role mobilizes to the field to oversee contractor execution, champion HSE&Q in the field, manage interfaces with Operations and ensure timely support is provided by the office to ongoing construction. Primary Functions General
•Demonstrate active and visible support for Incident-Free Culture (IFC) principles. Conduct IFC workshops, as needed.
•Support the Human Performance principles and becoming a better Learning Organization by understanding/learning from the employees who conduct the work.
•Ensure all files, information, e-mail, etc. comply with COPA document and records management (DRM) policy.
•Fully utilize CPMS AK standards and practices on all projects appropriate with project size and risk. Construction Management
•Implement and drive construction planning and readiness from the office and prepare the contractor to mobilize to the field for a discrete campaign, i.e. installation work packs, materials & logistics, small fabrication, camps & aviation, temporary equipment, provision of laydown space, etc.
•Support preparation of contract call-offs and scopes of work in accordance with the program-level contract strategy(s).
•Implement execution HSE & Quality systems and delivery standards, evaluate performance and results, and adjust on a short-term basis to achieve desired results.
•Monitor execution cost and schedule progress in the field relative to the baseline set during the planning phase, identifying problems early and influencing the contractor to put in place mitigation/recovery plans.
•Communicate and collaborate effectively to lead the field execution team and sustain field personnel and contractor morale, performance, and productivity.
•Manage peer-to-peer relationships with contract companies (focused on Contractor Project Manager and Superintendent levels).
•Identify and secure timely office support to the field during execution, both within construction and other functions.
•Coordinate with Supply Chain to implement construction material management processes (expediting, delivery, segregation, staging, and control) in the field execution plan.
•Coordinate with the Delivery function to implement the Construction Completions and Handover process (CPMSAK-CON-PR-AK704).
•Provide contractor performance feedback through the PIT. Required Skills and Experience
