YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Manager - Mining, you will perform your duties as a member of the Engineering Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. You will play an important role in establishing Meliadine’s strategic mining vision throughout the different planning exercises (LOM/ELOM), and contribute to executing it by providing Mine Operations with high quality technical services to achieve the division’s objectives. You will also ensure that a good collaboration is maintained with the different stakeholders inside and outside the division, to foster technical excellence and adopt industry best practice. You are responsible that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
•Uphold and advocate for the highest health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, governmental policies and regulations
•Lead the engineering team by setting a clear vision and aligning objectives to achieve the division strategic goals
•Establish & maintain the communication structure within the engineering group, to ensure the alignment of the team towards tactical & strategic goals
•Oversee LOM/ELOM/BUDGET planning exercises, adhering to the division roadmap and corporate guidelines
•Improve the LOM plan through various technical improvements, and collaborate with the geology team to meet MRMR renewal targets
•Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to enhance the division financial performance to stabilize & lower the CoG
•Collaborate with various departments through Steering Committees and workshops to improve production, productivity, and efficiency
•Manage the mine engineering budget and develop/execute hiring strategies
•Coach, mentor, and develop the engineering team, fostering technical and soft skills for career growth and succession planning
•Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders within AEM to share and adopt mining industry best practices
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
•Bachelor’s degree in Mining or Geological Engineering
•Minimum of 12 years of experience in underground and open pit mining operations
•Supervisory experience and strong leadership capabilities
•Strategic thinking and technical excellence mindset
•Experience working in a multicultural environment
•Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite application especially Outlook, Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint & Teams
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment
Your Work Schedule
•Schedule: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday at the mine site) with occasional 7/7; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
