Job Description:
GYS General Contracting is looking for an individual with experience supervising large commercial construction projects. Ground up construction experience is necessary.
Qualifications:
•10 years of experience as a commercial superintendent. Ground-up construction experience is required.
Technology-capable*. Even our Supers who "are not good on the computer" can utilize our apps to join a 99% paperless company.
Primary softwares used*: FieldWire and DropBox.
Compensation:
Salary ranges are competitive. Bonuses are available.
Travel:
This is a traveling position - we prefer candidates that are accustomed to and have experience with a traveling position.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities
•Assures GYS GC operational standards
•Learns all software necessary to operate within the GYS GC standard operating procedures. Training will be available as necessary and upon request.
Project Start-Up
•Build preliminary job schedule in a scheduling software (Microsoft Project is the current software standard at GYS GC). This may be done by the PM also and then updated by the super.
•Mobilize to the job site and set up all necessary items to begin construction.
•Coordinate weekly schedule meetings on all jobs.
Scheduling
•Formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field
•Establish and implement the Project Baseline Schedule based on the project contracts and subcontractor input, taking into account any elements that might impact the schedule
•Maintain the schedule and ensure that work performed is consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations
•Update project schedule monthly
•Provide progress report with the three-week look ahead of schedule to the Project Manager and the field staff
Safety
•Ensure that all subcontractors participate in a safety pre-construction meeting prior to starting work on the project
•Review the project weekly to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all OSHA and governing requirements and the project site specific safety plan.
•Ensure all safety documents are gathered by each subcontractor on the site. Gather and filing of the documents may be by other GYS GC employees.
Quality
•Ensure that all 1st delivery inspections and benchmark inspections occur per the baseline schedule so as not to impact the progression of the subsequent work.
•Ensure that the inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to the project team.
•Review critical dimensions (anchor bolts, buildings with 1% slope in the slab, doorway framing etc.)
•Briefly review subcontractor submittal info to ensure that what is installed is what was submitted.
•Ensure project is built per plans, reject/alter/halt/or inform PM of any work that is out of conformance.
Sub-Contractor Management
•Organize documentation of the job utilizing Bluebeam and DropBox
•Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards
•Work with PM to identify and resolve personnel issues and construction process revisions
•Manage all phases of the construction process including documenting and reporting site activities and progress.
•Daily reports (as much as possible when on the job site) and jobsite photos completed and stored in Drop Box or Bluebeam.
•Manage punchlists at completion
•Ensure that as-built working drawings are maintained on bluebeam as changes occur.
Project Closeout
•Manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, and punch list

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
