Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Superintendent to maintain and oversee day-to-day operations of a commercial building in Bridgeport, CT. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of handyman or facilities maintenance experience and must reside locally. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, coordinating vendors, and ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the building's systems and common areas.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
•Conduct daily inspections of the property, identifying maintenance issues and safety hazards.
•Perform general handyman work including plumbing, electrical, painting, basic HVAC, and carpentry.
•Maintain the cleanliness of common areas, restrooms, entryways, and exterior perimeter.
•Ensure building systems are operating efficiently (lighting, HVAC, security systems, etc.).
•Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials; notify management when replenishment is needed.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
•Provide access and oversight to vendors and contractors working on-site.
•Communicate with the Property Manager to schedule and monitor larger maintenance projects.
•Confirm completion of contracted work to standards and report issues as needed.
Emergency & Safety Response
•Be on-call for emergency maintenance issues and respond in a timely manner.
•Ensure emergency procedures and safety systems are in place and functioning.
•Report any safety or compliance issues to Property Management immediately.
Communication & Reporting
•Maintain a daily maintenance log to track tasks, issues, and follow-ups.
•Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and property management.
•Use digital tools or mobile apps (training provided if needed) to manage work orders and updates.
Requirements
•1–3 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or related handyman work
•Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC systems
•Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed
•Must be able to work independently, be organized, and show attention to detail
•Strong communication skills; courteous and responsive demeanor
•Must be local to Bridgeport, CT

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
