Ascension Construction Solutions has a job opening for a full-time (Low Voltage) LV Superintendent position for Construction Manager at Risk projects. Successful candidates shall meet the following requirements: Lead, direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors and/or trade labor, ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget of the project. Previous experience with Low Voltage, Fiber Optic, Security and Access Controls is preferred, but not required. The Superintendent has supervisory responsibility for Field Engineers, Interns and trade labor.
· Perform all functions with honesty and integrity.
· Communicate with all entities keeping everyone fully informed.
· Oversee and make decisions regarding the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
· Oversee work among trades to promote coordinated operations.
· Resolve issues regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment schedule and all other appropriate matters.
· Manage the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
· Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and/or Interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals.
· Create schedules and determine sequencing of work. Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain project schedule.
· Communicate with owners and architects/engineers in connections with field issues.
· Manage the billing process as it relates to Work In Place (WIP) and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
· Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the
· Coordinate with other trades outside of your direct scope to ensure that work is completed.
· Coordinate with Commissioning team to ensure schedule is maintained.
· Understand the public health and safety requirements and be fully trained in the proper safety procedures.
· May be required to facilitate meetings and or take meeting notes
· May be required to perform night shift work
· Climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders
· Navigate active construction sites consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material
· Be able to wear standard PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles
· Associate degree or greater in Construction, Engineering or Engineering Technology, Construction Management;
· Equivalent post-secondary education 2 or 4-year degree
· Qualified candidate must have a valid driver's license and retain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on commercial construction projects
· Datacenter experience is preferred, but not required
· Previous experience with Low Voltage, Fiber Optic, Security and Access Controls is preferred, but not required.
· Must be able to apply effective management techniques to maximize project performance.
· Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is essential.
· Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills.
· Possess a personal vehicle for use during the day for transportation to and from and on or around a job site.
· Ability to read and understand plans and direction given in English language.
· Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Word documents
· Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Excel documents
· Ability to create and or edit Outlook emails with attachments
· Ability to build relationships with and influence other functional areas
· Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
· Problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis
· Ability to read shop drawings and review submittals for project compliance
