SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
Denison is recruiting for several summer internship opportunities for university students based in Saskatoon. The
work terms run from May to August, and all internships are paid positions. Opportunities are available in the
following areas of study:
- Metallurgy
- Hydrogeology
- Environmental Sciences
- Engineering
Students who are hired to work in the Saskatoon office follow regular Monday to Friday office hours. Students who
work in field locations work a fourteen day in / fourteen day out rotation. Certain roles will offer the opportunity of a
mixed office / field location experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a motivated university student currently enrolled in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or
a related program to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals to
support the development of control strategies, assist with control system (PLC/HMI) design and programming, and
coordinate the integration of control systems for the Wheeler River Project. The Controls Engineer Student will
report to the Operational Readiness Manager and will work primarily in office with occasional travel to the
Company’s field location(s).
Our ideal candidate:
- Currently enrolled in a university program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, electronic
- Basic knowledge of distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, and
- PLC, HMI, SCADA, or DCS programming experience is an asset.
- Project coordination experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Safety-conscious with a strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate between vendor supplied control systems, the project engineering team, and the supplier of the
Distributed Control System for the Wheeler River Project.

Location: Saskatoon• Review control narratives, P&IDs, and other principal design documents and assist with control system
- Assist in the selection and implementation of an operational data management system.
- Support the integration of these systems.
