In this position, you will be responsible for facilitating summer camp activities and holding the standard of our parks high to achieve our goal, of being the most dynamic park system in the nation. - Supervise day camp groups and ensure and prioritize the safety and needs of the campers.
- Implement camp curriculum and programs. Ensure the camp’s activities and programs are run smoothly and efficiently. Assist summer camp staff with programs and activities.
- Serve as a positive leader for campers while providing a fun and enriching experience for youth. Lead by example for campers and others in punctuality, sense of fair play, teamwork, conservation and respect for nature.
- Respect each camper for their individuality while creating a culture of community, understanding and appreciation of nature through communication and collaboration.
- Communicate efficiently with appropriate parents or guardians.
- Keep recreation equipment such as rafts, kayaks, and climbing equipment clean and operational.
- Operate camps in accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
- High School graduate
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience working with children of all ages and abilities
- Experience facilitating summer camps and outdoor recreation activities such as boating, camping, hiking or rafting/challenge courses
- Customer service experience and a professional attitude
