The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is recruiting a Summer Student to join our innovative Information Management & Technology (IMT) team. As a Student, Application Support, you will work within the Product Support team, which delivers IT services across the organization. In this role, you will help set up .NET application code repositories and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO), implement code and deployment management procedures, configure user roles and code review processes, and develop dashboards for OneStop and legacy applications in ADO and Power BI. When capacity allows, you may also support general application support activities.

- Collaborate with software developers, product leads, application support specialists, and infrastructure teams.
- Configure and manage Azure DevOps (ADO) repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and related deployment processes.
- Clean up redundant .NET code and migrate legacy .NET application repositories to ADO.
- Develop, test, and optimize deployment scripts; automate deployments where feasible.
- Monitor deployment quality and performance, set up alerts, and support issue resolution.
- Develop and customize dashboards in ADO and Power BI to provide actionable insights.
- Participate in software support activities and document system interfaces and integration points.
- Support cloud monitoring optimization and prepare documentation for developed practices and solutions.
- Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (with a focus on software development), or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in software development and support.
- Prior internship or project-based experience in software development is considered an asset.
- Proof of enrollment in a registered institution including enrollment in the semester following the work term, or enrollment in a registered co-op program will be a condition of hire.
