Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the estimating process by accurately assessing project costs, preparing estimates, and collaborating with project managers and Cherokee Steel Fabricators Sales Team to ensure successful project pricing and successful award of Structural Steel Projects. This position requires a strong understanding of Structural Steel estimating practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Duties

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.

- Utilize software tools such as BIM to facilitate accurate estimating and cost control.

- Collaborate with customers project management teams to assess project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.

- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates for materials and services.

- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to foster effective communication and collaboration.

Experience

- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.

- Proficiency in using estimating software - BIM and Excel is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of cost control measures within the Structural Steel Fabrication industry.

- Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and subcontractors.

- Experience working on construction sites is a plus, providing practical insight into project requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week
