Structural Drafter

Position Summary

Seeking a drafter experienced in structural steel drafting. Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret structural drawings and applicable project specifications thoroughly. Candidate will create AutoCAD drawings and must possess a good understanding of MS Office products. Candidate needs to be very detail oriented and have good written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform drafting operations for the determination of project plans and collect data for project designs

- Generate detailed drawings necessary to perform all phases of fabrication

- Evaluate all drawings to ensure accuracy and specifications for state, federal and customer requirements are met

- Navigate state and federal websites to access most recent standard drawings and specifications.

- Communicate with contractors, clients, engineers and the general public regarding job designs or issues.

- Prepare supporting documentation such as bills of material and shipping lists

- Analyze technical problems and communicate design developments and/or improvements

- Travel to existing customer and/or vendor location if necessary.

Candidate must have a minimum of an Associate Degree within Design/Drafting or a related field along with substantial experience in structural steel drafting.

Experience in Metal Fabrication preferred.

Pay will be based on prior experience.

Leitchfield, Kentucky, in Grayson County, is 49 miles SE of Owensboro, Kentucky (center to center) and 61 miles SW of Louisville, Kentucky. Other nearby cities include Bowling Green and Elizabethtown.

Located between Nolin Lake and Rough River Dam State Park and near Mammoth Cave National Park. The land provides wildlife, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, and swimming.
