Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, accountable Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations across multiple privately owned industrial and mining companies. This role is responsible for transactional accuracy, account reconciliations, and monthly close support across a range of entities under common ownership.
You will work closely with the Controller and broader finance team to ensure clean books, timely reporting, and proper financial controls. - Perform daily accounting tasks including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account tracking across multiple entitiea
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial data
- Maintain and organize financial records, including general ledger entries, fixed assets, and supporting documentation
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed, ensuring timely entry and coding accuracy
- Assist in preparing internal financial statements, variance analysis, and reports for management review
- Support intercompany transaction tracking and reconciliations across operating divisions
- Help enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Collaborate with the Controller to support audits, tax filings, and external CPA coordination
- Monitor and resolve discrepancies in a proactive and timely manner
- Assist with system implementations, process improvements, and cleanup of legacy accounting issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or multi-entity environments
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise preferred) and Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced)
- Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Clear, professional communication skills—written and verbal
- Willingness to work on-site and collaborate across departments and locations
- Self-starter with the discipline to manage recurring tasks and take initiative on improvements
