Job Description
This is a critical role for Precoat Metals Accounting that helps with the general accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring timely delivery of complete and accurate financial statements.
The selected candidate will perform all month end close duties in accordance with GAAP, contribute to the forecasting and budgeting process, help administer all business compliance and proactively drive process improvement. This position will provide information, data and conclusions to the finance group and other department functions, including Senior Leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Play key role in month-end close by preparing journal entries in accordance with GAAP, financial statement preparation, regulatory and general ledger compliance and balance sheet reconciliations
•Facilitate and assist with monthly forecasting, annual/long-term planning and budgeting
•Prepare scrap reconciliations and facilitate corresponding customer service
•Assist with process improvement initiatives, including supporting our new ERP system integration.
•Coordinate with internal and external auditors to complete our quarterly and annual audits, including conducting physical inventories
•Assist with business administration duties, such as business licensing and tax filings for 14 business units (including Sales, Use & Ad Velorem compliance filings)
•Issue and process credit memos, invoices and debit memos
•Work with the AR and AP functions on customer invoice or PO discrepancies
•Provide information, data and results to finance and other department functions
•Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
•Bachelors in Accounting/Finance preferred
•Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience
•Thorough understanding of US GAAP
•Strong computer aptitude, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
•Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to adapt to changing situations without compromising attention to detail
•Independent decision-making skills and utilization of sound judgement
•Excellent time management capability to organize and complete work within given deadlines
•Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with both internal and external customer groups
•Ability to travel up to 10%
