Bonnell Aluminum is actively seeking a results-oriented Staff Accountant who will report to the Plant Controller in the Clearfield, Utah Plant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for key accounting functions as well as supporting the overall Bonnell business. Highly motivated and team-oriented, this person will possess an excellent knowledge of U.S. accounting practices. The Staff Accountant will have the ability to balance detailed transactional work with accounting/financial projects.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Prepare and maintain journal entries for the plant, including payroll & lease accounting.
- Perform monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for the plant, involving intercompany transactions & multiple Bank Accounts. Investigate & resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain month end checklist and year end closing lists.
- Support SOX compliance efforts within the plants and division; prepare, review, and submit audit documentation to internal & external sites.
- Facilitate Audit phases with the plant, including Year End. Following up with departments and meeting deadlines for all requests.
- Review and accurately maintain Trial Balance GL accounts.
- Maintain fixed assets, including system creation of new capital projects, capitalizing assets, disposals and recording monthly depreciation.
- Oversee AP & AR process, ensure GAAP & SOX compliance, resolve issues as needed.
- Review Weekly Payments by Check, ACH, & Wire.
- Assist with Income Statement and Balance Sheet reporting.
- Assist with monthly conversion costs and variance reports for Flash reporting to Division.
- Provides deliverables to plant team members regarding DPLOY KOM data, cost savings projects and other ad hoc assignments.
- Administer user support and upload travel expenses in business system.
- Prepare periodic tax filings, with multiple Sales and Use Tax Filings and annual 1099’s.
- Assist in streamlining reporting for closing deadlines.
- Create and implement procedures and establish best practices.
- Assist with Plan preparation and review, including Plant Scorecard calculations.
- Prepare quarterly and year end reports as required for parent company.
- Other Ad Hoc activities as deemed necessary.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Experience with multi-entity manufacturing organizations.
- 3+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience required, including knowledge of GAAP and previous experience in SOX compliance activities.
- Strong communication (oral and written), analytical, organization, planning and project management skills.
- Advanced level proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting-related software.
- ERP system experience; AS400, BPCS, JD Edwards a plus.
- Ability to identify and implement processes and improvements; partnering with others as needed.
