This is a full time, exempt position with a 4-day work week!
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely management of financial data and reports, reconciliation processes, and support of company-wide financial operations. The ideal candidate is analytical, proficient with ERP systems and spreadsheets, and takes initiative to streamline processes for greater efficiency. The duties performed include, but are not limited to the following:
- Bank Reconciliation. Perform regular and accurate reconciliation of bank statements to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
- Accounts Receivable. Oversee the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring timely invoicing, payment collection, and resolution of customer queries.
- Accounts Management. Manage and maintain income and expenditure accounts with accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Financial Reporting. Generate timely financial reports to support decision-making and compliance requirements.
- Fixed Assets Management. Maintain and update the company’s asset files, including depreciation schedules and asset disposal documentation.
- ERP and Data Entry. Accurately enter financial data into ERP systems; ensure system integrity and support process enhancements.
- GAAP Compliance. Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and compliant.
- Spreadsheet Proficiency. Utilize advanced spreadsheet functions for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Process Improvement. Continuously seek opportunities to simplify and improve accounting processes and reporting systems.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong initiative.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong project management capabilities and ability to multitask.
- Comfortable moving about a facility unencumbered, including production and inventory areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.- Experience with JobBOSS ERP a plus.
