Senior Planning Engineer
Position Summary
Chord Energy is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our Corporate Planning group. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
•Maintain and update the corporate Net Asset Value model using Aries, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with current business assumptions.
•Support the annual budget process and the subsequent monthly forecasting process.
•Help identify and evaluate risks, opportunities, and sensitivities to better inform decision-making.
•Collaborate with teams across the company—including Operations, Finance, Development, and Land—to deliver high-quality insights and recommendations.
•Serve as a key technical and economic advisor, offering strategic input on development planning, capital allocation, and asset optimization.

Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field
•5 years of experience in upstream oil and gas, with a focus on Reservoir Engineering or Corporate Reserves Evaluation
•Strong proficiency in Aries (required)
•Familiarity with unconventional resource development, preferably in the Bakken or similar basins
•Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
•Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
•Ability to meet deadlines
•Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
