Position Overview:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Poptop and Salvage area of our Assembly department. This role is responsible for executing daily production goals, ensuring safety and quality standards, and providing frontline support for training and troubleshooting. This role is designed as a developmental opportunity with potential to advance into a salaried Production Supervisor role.
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day operations to meet productivity, safety, and quality targets.
- Monitor and adjust schedules and labor to meet daily production requirements.
- Identify and escalate process issues, equipment problems, or safety concerns.
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications for team members.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams on equipment reliability and improvements.
- Monitor team member performance and provide coaching as needed.
- Support new employee training and skill development efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of production, materials, and attendance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate across shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Demonstrate leadership potential through initiative, accountability, and positive influence on team culture.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
- Ability to influence others through positive example, clear communication, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Proficient in basic math skills, including working with fractions and decimals.
- Comfortable using digital systems for reporting and tracking.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership potential with a willingness to take initiative and guide others.
- This is a full-time, on-site role on the day shift. The standard schedule is Monday – Thursday 5:00AM to 4:30PM.
- This role requires working in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
- Overtime and alternate shifts may be required based on production needs.
