The Operations Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of ENMAX Energy business systems as they are to be modernized over the next several years. This critical role will serve as a liaison between the business stakeholders (Customer Care, Risk, Commercial Operations & Trading) and IT/IS technical resources. The selected candidate will identify improvement opportunities, document requirements, design and operationalize processes.
Major Responsibilities:
•Analyze complex business problems and provides expertise in identifying, reconciling evaluating and developing solutions that are cost effective, meet user requirements, complement business processes, and consider data quality requirements.
•Align business processes, policies, and operations to implement improvements to positively impact the financial results and customer experience of retail systems.
•Guide internal project teams to implement continuous improvement of process, systems and operations utilizing high quality metrics and analytics.
•Liaise with internal & external stakeholders to provide detailed business requirements for system and infrastructure improvements.
•Liaise with internal stakeholders, such as IT/IS, Customer Care, Risk, Commercial Analytics, ENMAX Energy Corporation (EEC) Finance & Audit operationalize team initiatives.
•Actively participate in cross functional work groups to develop and improve policies, processes, reporting and systems that impact ENMAX Energy business objectives and financial results.
•Explore and identify automation & integration opportunities to optimize processes and improve data quality.
•Utilize relevant performance metrics, financial forecasting, and other data sources to provide recommendations to support ENMAX Energy business decisions.
•Collaborate with stakeholders evaluate, troubleshoot, and enhance existing and new operational solutions.
•Provide day to day oversight for key operational reports and investigate/reconcile discrepancies.
•Complete recurring audit (annual/quarterly) accountabilities within the EEC IS Energy team.
Education Required:
•Undergraduate degree preferably in the fields of IT, Business Analysis or Management Operations. Candidates with significant experience will also be considered.
Qualifications & Experience:
•5+ years’ experience including business/IS operations or analytics.
•Proven Business Analysis experience.
•Experience with MS Power BI and SQL. Python skills are considered an asset.
•Experience working in the Alberta deregulated electricity and natural gas industry.
•Ability to develop effective test cases, business validation procedures and definitions.
•Experience translating and documenting business requirements into technical requirements (strong written skills).
•Ability to develop technical documentation for sharing among peers and vendors alike.

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
