Specialist, HR Governance and Administration

As a Specialist, HR Governance and Administration you will lead and support the development, execution, and continuous improvement of HR governance processes, including tracking, auditing, and reporting. Your goal will be to ensure compliance with evolving legal, regulatory, and internal requirements by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across strategic HR initiatives. Your success will be measured by your ability to proactively manage governance activities while enabling effective, compliant HR operations throughout the organization.

Your Responsibilities

- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR Governance Program, participate in determining priorities, and independently lead aspects of the program.

- Lead various initiatives and projects that contribute to the general operation and effectiveness of the HR Governance Program.

- Liaise between HR, Legal, Compliance and Governance teams for cross-functional governance efforts.

- Support and occasionally lead the ongoing review and development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct periodic reviews to verify adherence to compliance procedures, identify areas of vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans with guidance to prevent recurrence.

- Collaborate with other departments to assist with and provide guidance on compliance-related projects, reviews, and initiatives.

- Support and lead aspects of a governance communication program that promotes awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance issues across the organization.

- Work with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with HR governance processes, procedures, and applicable legislative or legal requirements.

- Develop, guide, and support training and reporting programs related to governance topics, including investigative procedures and the use of technology tools like Workday and Office 365 to enhance policy application.

Your Experience

- Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Law, Policy or related field preferred.

- 3-5 Years of experience in Human Resources, Law or other relatable experience.

- Strong knowledge of provincial and federal employment legislation required.

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (create, populate, update), Power BI.
