Keyera is currently seeking a Specialist, Financial Reporting to join the Corporate Reporting team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will assist in completing complex responsibilities related to the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle. This role will also be responsible for providing support in the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes, MD&A and other securities filings; and will assist other teams within the broader Finance team as required.
As a member of the Corporate Reporting team, the successful candidate will be given responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle by preparing working papers and related analysis, and maintaining complex financial models, to support the consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes
- Provide support in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes, MD&A and other securities filings
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging IFRS accounting standards, and related regulatory requirements
- Provide support to the Complex Accounting team in execution of accounting-related projects, including the implementation of new IFRS Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements
- Ad hoc assignments supporting Corporate Reporting and other stakeholders
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic and service-oriented with the following qualifications:
- Professional accounting or finance designation with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, including industry experience
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and the Canadian Securities Administrators rules and regulations, with a proven ability of interpreting the requirements, and providing compliant and practical application solutions
- Relevant experience in a similar financial reporting role requiring public company filings
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen focus on attention to details
- Demonstrated ability in managing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Determined self-starter, motivated to take initiative and work with a high degree of autonomy
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and building/maintaining complex financial models
