Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Solar Permit Coordinator to manage the permitting process for residential and/or commercial solar installations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Prepare and submit permit applications to local municipalities, building departments, and utility companies.
•Track the status of all permit applications and maintain accurate records in internal systems.
•Communicate with city and county officials to resolve issues or expedite permit approvals.
•Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to ensure permit accuracy.
•Review site plans, electrical diagrams, and other documentation to verify compliance with local code requirements.
•Follow up on outstanding permits and ensure all final inspections are scheduled and passed.
•Stay up to date on local permitting regulations and changes in code requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•2+ year of experience in permitting, administrative support, or project coordination
•Excellent communication and organizational skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace & Adobe
•Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred:
•Experience in the solar, construction, or energy industry
•Familiarity with permitting software (Aurora, Accela, SolarNexus, Salesforce)
•Knowledge of local building codes and NEC (National Electrical Code)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
•Typical office environment, with occasional travel to city or county offices
•Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
•May occasionally lift files or documents weighing up to 15 pounds
