We’re looking for an experienced Solar Engineer, Utility and Project Administrator/Coordinator to join our (rapidly) growing Smart Roofs Solar team!
The ideal candidate for this position has a college-level degree/ education with proven interest in the solar energy field. Being driven within a FAST-paced, deadline and detail-oriented environment is a MUST.
Responsibilities
•Prepare detailed designs Solar PV systems to be submitted to professional electrical and structural Engineers.
•Prepare Solar Proposals for Sales Team including initial design, performance and financial forecasts to be presented to prospective customers
•Smart Roofs Solar seeks a personable, motivated and organized individual to perform permit closeout responsibilities as a Solar Project Administrator
•Support and assist the Operations team in all aspects of commercial solar projects
•Utility and AHJ document preparation
•Manage & Submit utility and AHJ process & portal submissions
•Communicate with Smart Roofs Solar teams and Utility departments for status and project review
•Project Modifications with Utility and required document changes
•Electrical Filing Request Submissions
•Ensuring Utility and AHJ End of Project closeout
•Assisting and managing procurement processes assigned such as equipment and services for project completions such as electrical/solar equipment, roofing materials, etc.
•Direct communication with the operations team regarding tie-ins, complex designs, and fielding questions from install teams.
•Sending completed proposals to the sales team and senior management
•Process projects using Adobe Acrobat, GSuite, Word, and Excel
•Prepare detailed designs Commercial Solar PV systems to be submitted to professional electrical and structural Engineers. Experience with Helioscope, Aurora or similar solar design software a plus
•Assisting VP of Operations on an as-needed basis
•Updating CRM for engineering and operational updates to customers
Qualifications
•College education with a preference for engineering disciplines
•Previous experience in a similar role HIGHLY DESIRABLE / REQUIRED
•Experience with Helioscope, Aurora or similar solar design software
•Experience dealing with regulated electrical utilities and local government departments
•Detailed oriented, ability to manage multiple projects under restrictive deadlines
•Demonstrated proficiency working with computers, including google apps, crm and project management software
•Must be proactive with the ability to evaluate situations and present solutions
•Capable of working in a team environment as well as acting and operating confidently and independently
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Google Suite: 1 year (Preferred)
•Candidate will need to make phone calls to utilities, jurisdictions and clients as necessary and conduct conversations in a professional manner
•Demonstrated capability of problem solving; capable of taking an undefined problem and identifying solvable approaches

•The typical work week is 20 to 40 hours, with the day starting at 8 AM
