Job Description:
Responsible for the oversight and supervision of monitoring, attending and operating all equipment at the Tri-State Operated Solar Facilities. Also responsible for performing skilled maintenance work to inspect, install, remove, and repair electronic, control equipment, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment in a safe, logical, and efficient manner complying with all electrical codes and safety regulations. Supports the plant manager in operating a solar generating facility in conformance with facility's Power Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements, plant procedures, environmental regulations and safety procedures with minimal guidance or assistance. Keeps the plant manager fully informed of plant operating status, unusual conditions, and faulty equipment.

Solar Supervisor
Hiring Salary Range: $106,000-$135,000
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Responsibilities:
•Conducts all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner.
•Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Maintains and executes tactical processes in a team oriented, multi-discipline environment.
•Ensures all plant equipment troubleshooting is completed, equipment is maintained and repaired, including instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
•Ensures predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance is accomplished.
•Executes equipment tag outs as required under the direction of the Plant Manager.
•This position involves overtime, callouts, outage work, weekend, and holiday work.
MULTI-SKILLS
•Operations - The operation of a solar photovoltaic power plant to include monitoring and operating plant equipment and responding to plant upset events and emergencies; taking and recording all necessary equipment and instrumentation readings and data; and manually and remotely operating necessary equipment.
•Electrical Maintenance - Troubleshooting and correcting electrical maintenance problems, including switch gear, motors, breakers and plant wiring. Should be familiar with the usage of high-tech electronic test equipment and other precision test instruments to be used in identifying problems. Completion of electrical technical training is required.
•Instrument & Control - Experience in troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, tuning, and replacing sophisticated I&C equipment and components. Must be able to maintain the plant equipment and components. Must be able to maintain the plant Distributed Control System and related equipment. Completion of extensive technical training in modern I&C work is required.
•Mechanical Maintenance - Experience in troubleshooting and correcting mechanical problems. Completion of mechanical technical training is required.
•Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training
•Associates or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Trade school training or associate degree in electronics, instrumentation and control, electrical technical training, electrician training, electrical engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience, and two (2) years of related experience, or five (5) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
•Must have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills to operate and maintain a Photo Voltaic Solar generating facility.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Must have a satisfactory work record.
•Ability to conduct training of others in plant operation and maintenance procedures.
Other:
•Solar photovoltaic power plant or equivalent work experience.
