Scenic Hill Solar is growing rapidly and looking for a talented Field Electrician with solar experience to join its team. Solar Field Technicians must be success-oriented, self-starters who relentlessly pursue excellence and cost-effective solar power plant maintenance on commercial scale solar arrays including preventative and reactive maintenance, quality control, commissioning, optimization and coordination, concise and effective communication, and on-schedule and on-budget task delivery.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on existing solar arrays, including string testing, insulation resistance testing, and system performance checks.
- Interpret electrical schematics, construction drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Assist in quality control and commissioning processes.
- Complete the warranty claim process for all applicable equipment.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and field crews.
- Prepare service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs, equipment modifications and equipment improvement investigations.
- Provide reports, written and oral communication in a timely and complete fashion.
- Technical or trade school certification. Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical work, with at least 3 years in solar PV installations preferred.- Knowledge of NEC as it pertains to solar.
- Familiarity with solar PV components such as modules, racking, inverters, combiner boxes, switchgears/panelboards and transformers.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, clamp meter, IV curve).
- Experience with data acquisition systems (DAS) and SCADA integration.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (to the office, a work vehicle will be provided for service trips).
- Ability to travel to remote site locations across the state of Arkansas in a company provided vehicle.
- Ability to respond to emergency calls after work hours or on weekends. (typically after major storm events).
- Ability to stay overnight near jobsites on rare occasions (typically less than twice per month).
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain.
- Ability to sit or drive for prolonged periods.
