About This Job
Mountain View Solar has an immediate opening for an experienced solar field technician. Candidates must have a technical understanding of solar energy systems.
mtvSolar is the region’s longest running solar and battery storage company with unmatched workmanship and attention to detail. Our installations run the full spectrum, with residential, commercial, and municipal work forming the majority of our installations. Our primary service area is the WV panhandle, Western MD, PA and Northern VA with occasional work outside the area.
In this role, you will:
•
Resolve customer issues:Diagnose and address technical problems with solar energy systems, usually requiring on-site visits within a 50-mile radius of Berkeley Springs, WV.
•
Travel and work independently:This role requires reliable transportation to our headquarters and the ability to travel to customer locations. We provide a company vehicle, paid travel expenses, and per diem for overnight stays in remote areas.
•
Technical Expertise:Be proficient in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems from leading brands like SolarEdge, enPhase, Tesla, and Schneider Electric. A strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, multimeter usage, and general IT (networking, IP addresses) is essential.
•
Communication and Customer Service:Effectively communicate with customers via various channels (video chat, phone, on-site visits) and maintain a professional demeanor.
•
Reporting and Documentation:Clearly document service calls with written descriptions, take pictures, and complete daily progress reports.
•
Problem-solving and Teamwork:Independently troubleshoot issues, make informed decisions, and collaborate effectively with the service team and other departments.

Qualifications:
•
Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT screening.
•
Excellent navigation skills using Google Earth, maps, and GPS.
•
OSHA 10 or better certification card required.
•
Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift at least 50 lbs.
•
Basic IT knowledge and a willingness to learn new technologies.
•
Strong ability to understand and interpret technical manuals.
•
Excellent written communication skills for daily safety reports and progress updates.
•
Professional appearance and demeanor.
