Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Electrician to join our growing team. This position blends the responsibilities of a residential electrician, battery installation lead, and construction manager. You will play a hands-on role in every phase of the project — from design review and material planning to on-site installation, commissioning, and final project closeout.
As a Storage and PV Solar Electrician, you will help ensure high-quality installations of solar PV and energy storage systems, while providing leadership and training to fellow team members.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
•Manage and oversee all stages of residential PV solar and battery installation projects.
•Review system designs, job plans, and materials lists to ensure smooth project execution.
•Supervise and train apprentice electricians and coworkers in safe work practices, tool usage, and installation procedures.
•Lead the installation of main panel upgrades, load relocations, additional load centers, and creative conduit runs.
•Commission and troubleshoot PV systems, identifying and resolving issues such as ground faults, polarity problems, and communication errors.
•Provide on-site troubleshooting for PV and storage systems; collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
•Review bills of materials (BOMs), submit materials requests, and verify timely availability of correct materials.
•Maintain project plans, material specs, and as-built documentation; ensure full knowledge of each assigned project.
•Deliver projects on time and ensure minimal punch list items at project closeout.
•Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations on all job sites.
•Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
•Maintain strong working relationships across all teams while demonstrating leadership and sound judgment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
•Minimum 3 years of experience in residential electrical work, solar PV, and battery storage installations.
•In-depth knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, NEC code, and safety standards.
•Demonstrated experience with panel upgrades, load center work, conduit bending, and creative routing solutions.
•Strong ability to commission PV systems and perform advanced troubleshooting.
•Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
•Excellent leadership and team management skills.
•Modest general construction and basic carpentry skills.
•High attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Job Location: This role requires you to drive to our Hayward office every morning and you will have to travel to job sites frequently.
