The Solar Craft Laborer assists in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems or other structures and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on large-scale solar farms in compliance with site assessments and schematics. This role supports the solar installation crew in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and up to quality standards.
- Assist in loading and unloading solar materials and equipment.
- Prepare a worksite by setting up tools, safety barriers, and materials.
- Assemble and install racking systems for solar panels.
- Mount and secure solar panels based on project plans and safety guidelines.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow site layouts, blueprints, and project plans.
- Follow instructions from crew leads, electricians, and supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, following OSHA and company safety rules.
- Assist in trenching, digging, and basic wiring support when required.
- Perform basic measurements and layout using tape measures and levels.
- Work in varying outdoor weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous construction or electrical labor experience (preferred).
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds regularly.- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- May involve climbing ladders.
- Requires use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs.
- Travel to remote solar farm sites may be required.
- OSHA 10 certification and solar installation training required.
- OSHA 30 certification (preferred).
