Rainy River Mine

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join the Construction team as a skilled excavator operator. The role of the Equipment Operator is to provide support to TMA operations, mainly through operating heavy equipment to ensure that production activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner and production objectives are met. The selected candidate will have a minum of 3-5 years of direct excavator operations experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Working a 7/7 rotation, rotating between 12 hour day and night shifts.

- The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.

- Load Haul Trucks with various sized materials (ie. clay, rock, overburden).

- Experience loading multiple trucks consistently.

- Heavy construction equipment may include haul truck, front-end loaders, dozers, excavators, and other pieces of equipment.

- Perform circle checks of equipment and clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.

- Operate both the articulating Haul Truck and 100T Haul Truck.

- Able to hold grade consistently.

- Ability to work with a plan on minimal supervision.

Qualifications

- Driver's license is required - must have minimum of class G2 license.

- Minimum of 3-5 years experience operating an excavator.

- Ability to operate a Dozer and Wheel Loader is considered an asset.

- Ability to operate various machinery is considered an asset.

- Heavy Equipment Operator Training is desirable.

- Ontario Common Core Training is an asset.

- Strong verbal communication skills.

- Aptitude to demonstrate safety procedures is essential in this role.

- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and signage.

- Ability to hold grade.

- Ability to load several trucks on a consistent basis.

- Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labour.
