What You’ll Do
As the Site Supervisor, you will deliver Dyno Nobel’s non-negotiable Zero Harm safety program as well as the company’s financial objectives at our Detour Lake mining facility in ON. Other duties will include:
•Ensuring that company policies, safe work practices, hazard analysis, and standard operating procedures are up-to-date and followed by the employees
•Implement Dyno Nobel Blasting SOPs/ExMS
•Compile blast reports (paper and electronic)
•Assist with blast site hazard assessments to ensure the blast site is a safe work environment for all involved
•Communicate all relevant information to the blast crew, including a review of the hazard assessment through the safety tailgate meeting
•Ensure that all equipment to be used in that operation is in good operating condition and maintenance systems /schedules followed
•Ensure that all regulations, both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) are adhered to within the operation with regards to personnel workings, product storage, and product transportation
•Time and payroll management
What We’re Looking For:
•Post-secondary education related to Drilling, Blasting, Mining or Mineral resources or similar Project Management Education
•Project management experience with a focus on Open Pit Mining desired
•3+ years experience in Project Management/ or Mining / or Drill and Blast
•Must have good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP also an asset
•Proven ability to communicate effectively in the terminology related to the field in the form of verbal and written reports
•Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
