Overview:
A JAB Recruitment client is seeking for a Site Safety & Health Officer - nationwide travel. The position is full-time, direct hire with great benefit package.
This is a 100% field based travel position with rotation based on project sites, therefore can live anywhere in the US (preferably along the Gulf or East coast). Employees do not get to pick & choose project sites or work location; must be able to travel where their skills are needed/requested by company. Rotation schedule is 17 days on/11 days off, daily meal allowance ($52.00/per work day), lodging, and transportation are provided by the company.
During their 11 days off, the company will fly the employee to and from home if you desire to return home during that time.
Employee is issued a company credit card (if eligible) and can use company corporate travel agency for all their travel bookings. Employee must keep all receipts and turn in an expense report with receipts each month.
The Opportunity: Reporting to the Vice President, Health, Safety & Environmental, the Site Safety & Health Office will guide and support the Project Management Team in all aspects the company's Incident & Injury Free Safety initiative.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
•Implement the project site safety, health and health requirements put forth in the Company's Safety Management Program.
•Guide and support the Project Management Team in all aspects the company's Incident & Injury Free Safety initiative.
•Be 100% familiar with the requirements of the contract specifications and ensure compliance with all safety, health and environmental issues.
•Make daily inspection rounds to observe and guide personnel in safe work practices and methods.
•Participate in project progress meetings and stay abreast of task scheduling to ensure that potential workplace hazards are discussed, and safe work practices planned.
•Assist and guide Site Supervisors in preparation and execution of Weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings.
•Prepare a weekly safety report summarizing your daily activities, training and near miss and incident summary.
•Assist Site Management in conducting new hire safety orientations, familiarization walk-a-rounds and implementation of the -Green Hat- training program.
•Participate in pre-shift meetings and guide the crews in preparation of Job Safety Analyses.
•Liaise with the appropriate Division Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, as necessary, to address project safety, health and environmental compliance issues.
