Shop Mechanic

We have a 74,000 square foot fabrication shop as well as a massive sandblasting and painting area. With our Meriden and Torrington shops and abilities, we can handle any project you can throw at us.

Logan Steel is looking to hire a shop mechanic. We are looking for a qualified individual who has experience working on cranes, trucks, and heavy equipment. Logan Steel has a mixed portfolio of machinery and equipment in use. The ideal candidate has a diverse background in mechanics with the ability to work on forklifts, diesel trucks, heavy equipment, automotives, etc..

Requirements:

- 5+ years experience as a mechanic

- Valid driver's license

- Diverse background in various areas of mechanics

- Ability to perform under pressure and multi task

- Basic computer and internet literacy

- Drive manual transmission

- Electrical troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

- Repairing and maintaining various machines and trucks at our facility (i.e. Mechanical experience in any of the following: diesel mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, forklift mechanics, automotive technicians, crane/aerial mechanics, construction equipment mechanics or agricultural/farm equipment mechanics)

- Conduct preventive maintenance

- Troubleshoot machines and equipment as necessary

- Perform vehicle inspections

- Read manufacturer's drawings and manuals

- Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work environment
