POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: SHOP MANAGER
Location: FIELD OFFICE
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: DIRECTOR OF FLEET MAINTENANCE TRANSPORTATION
Position Summary: The Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Shop Managers ensure that maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations and company policies.
•Ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance and support, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members to achieve their best performance
•Coordinate with service writer to review repair orders and ensure accuracy, keeping track of inventory levels for spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
•Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll for all employees
•Schedule maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment inspections to minimize downtime and ensure that all equipment and machinery are in optimal working condition.
•Act as a liaison between the maintenance shop and other departments within the organization. Will need to be able to communicate effectively with staff and management to coordinate maintenance activities and address any issues or concerns.
•Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
•Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations in a professional manner.
•Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational strategies.
•Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines.
•Complete other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
•Minimum 3-5 years experience in maintenance or a related field
•Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, as well as the ability to use tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance work.
•Proficient with Microsoft
•Ability to maintain a strong customer service focus.
