Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Install Manager, the Sheetmetal Fabricator is responsible for the operation of equipment to design and produce machined parts/ductwork for HVAC systems.
Additional job responsibilities are as follows:
•Fabricate and pre-fabrication of HVAC duct systems
•Fabrication in all areas of the Sheet Metal shop as directed; Coil Line & Fitting Assembly, Roll Form, Liner, and Turning Vane & Hardware
•Read and interrupt duct labels for material processes
•Verify and confirm all shop cut sheets with the proper fabrication specifications and processes.
•Meet and excel production goals set by the Install & Assistant Install Managers
•Knowledge and ability to use all related Sheetmetal Fabrication equipment
•Assist in the pre-fabrication of HVAC duct systems as directed by the Assistant Install Manager or Field Supervisor
•Build HVAC duct systems by the reading of blueprints and coordinating fabrication components to CAD/manual takeoffs
•Meet and excel prefabrication goals set by the Assistant Install Manager
•Perform general housekeeping duties as directed
•Attend all Sheet Metal Shop safety and production meetings as required
•Follow all Ambient employee and safety procedures
•Communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and office personnel
•Keep track of daily shop inventory by tracking material used
•Assist in warehouse as needed
•Operate forklift in a safe manner
•All other duties as assigned to ensure organizational excellence
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
•High School Diploma or equivalent, required
•2+ years experience in Sheetmetal/Fabrication, Carpentry, Welding, or similar experience
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record
•High attention to detail
•Ability to work independently or as a team
•Good communication skills, both verbal and written
•Ability to operate a forklift
Physical Requirements:
•Long periods of standing, bending, stooping, walking, crouching, climbing and twisting
•Ability to lift up to 80lbs
•Exposure to inclement weather conditions to include excessive heat and cold
•Fine dexterity with ability to manipulate controls and equipment with hands/fingers
