Job Summary

The SG&A Planning Lead Analyst is expected to work effectively across multiple functional disciplines of the Company and develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company's leadership. He/she is also expected to collaborate extensively with the Planning team and other parts of the Finance organization.

Job Description Overview:

Responsibilities:

•

Develop Long Range Plan (LRP) and financial forecasts (X+Y) for business units / departments; coordinate with leadership to understand performance drivers; explain deviation to plan and projection; support and influence the decision making process

•

Develop & maintain complex financial models and/or databases to effectively manage the business, track and present forecasted results to management in a concise manner

•

Investigate drivers of variance including changes to business, accuracy of inputs and discrepancies in data

•

Interface with leadership and Business Unit / department teams to drive results.

•

Perform multi-variable variance analysis, working across departments to understand drivers, and provide high level explanations

•

Perform month-close tasks such as preparing journal entries, researching payment/invoice issues, and other duties as needed

•

Develop business cases for major projects and initiatives; validate associated assumptions and cost

•

Identify risks and opportunities in achieving the cost and benefit commitments for plan, projections, projects and initiatives; make recommendations to cover any shortfalls; facilitate and influence the decision making process

•

Create financial models of “what if” scenarios to aid future business decisions

•

Generate forecasts and analyze trends in sales, finance and other business areas

•

Resolve complex issues using existing or new solutions

•

Generate new ideas, processes and reports to meet business needs

•

Develop and provide ad hoc reports to meet one-time and evolving information needs in an efficient and consistent manner

Requirements:

•

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or other quantitative field

•

MBA or other related advanced degree beneficial

•

3 to 5+ years of finance/management consulting work experience in a dynamic and analytical environment

•

Superior analytical and problem solving skills

•

Working knowledge of and substantial experience with business case development, project valuation, and financial metrics calculation

•

Experience with financial report and presentation material preparation

•

Experience with automated financial systems, such as SAP or PeopleSoft Excel Word, PowerPoint and Visio application skills

•

Ability to efficiently and effectively manage large data sets, including experience with macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas for data analysis, statistical functions, and/or other large data analysis tools

•

General understanding of the financial closing process and monthly/quarterly cycles

•

General understanding of financial transaction flows from source systems to the general ledger

•

Occasional long, irregular hours and must be flexible to overtime and deadlines with short lead times
