Position Overview:
The Service Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily service delivery operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor and Sr. Account Manager, this role act as the central communication point between the sales and operations teams. Responsible for dispatching driving teams, managing service schedules, coordinating equipment and repairs, and supporting new and ongoing programs. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong communication skills, and brings an operational mindset focused on creating efficiencies and delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
Service & Personnel Coordination
•Assign drivers to all residential service routes.
•Schedule and communicate changes and updates to field teams.
•Monitor and maintain the tablet program (including troubleshooting and maintenance).
•Review and reconcile all Disposal Tickets to ensure accuracy before forwarding to the appropriate departments.
•Track and monitor vehicle locations and activity to support efficient route management and field operations.
New Contract Set-up
•Collaborate with Business Development to plan, schedule, and launch new contracts.
•Process and schedule program enhancements and service changes.
Service Support
•Troubleshoot field calls from drivers regarding service disruptions (e.g., access issues, bin concerns).
•Conduct daily check-ins with the collections team to address and resolve service-related issues.
•Collaborate with the Customer Service Specialist and Account Manager to ensure all services meet municipal contract requirements and comply with regulatory standards.
Leadership & Operational Support
•Participate in employee engagement and contribute to a positive work environment.
•Champion change management initiatives across the organization.
•Identify and recommend process improvements and operational efficiencies by recording KPIs.
•Provide day-to-day operational support to the Sr. Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor, and Account Manager as needed.
•Support contractual renewals, amendments, and negotiations by coordinating documentation and contributing to the review process.
•Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Job Requirements:
•Post-secondary education in logistics, operations, or a related field (preferred).
•2-3 years of experience in a coordination or dispatch role within logistics, operations, or service delivery.
•Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
•Highly proficient in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
•Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and digital, across all levels of the organization.
•Strong organizational and time management skills, with a focus on problem-solving and adaptability.
•Comfortable using logistics software and digital tools (e.g., Trux, tablets, scheduling systems).
•Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with both management and field staff.
