Role:
At Amperesand, you own validation of power electronics, thermal systems, and firmware. You will build test systems, develop strategies, and ensure SST hardware and firmware work flawlessly.
Responsibilities:
•Design, develop, and maintain test systems for high-voltage power electronics.
•Validate electrical, thermal, and performance characteristics of our products across prototype, pre-production, and production stages.
•Conduct comprehensive regression testing to ensure that new iterations of the product meet the same standards of performance and reliability as previous versions.
•Define a manufacturing test specification for volume production.
•Innovate test system design to meet accuracy, cycle time, cost, and other performance factors.
•Collaborate closely with hardware design and firmware teams to understand the product and its functionalities. Investigate root causes of failures and drive product improvements.
•Participate hands-on during test hardware bring-up, system debugging, and help with software optimization.
•Incorporate design techniques to achieve ease of validation and maintenance.
•Challenge ideas and decisions with reasoning from first principles.
•Travel to different facilities worldwide to collaborate with teams and deploy our solutions.
Qualifications:
•BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
•4+ years of hands-on experience in test engineering, preferably in power electronics.
•Strong understanding of power electronics principles, including high-voltage, high-current systems, and power conversion technologies.
•Solid experience with PCBA schematics and debugging hardware components.
•Familiarity with using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and other test equipment.
•Experience using system-level languages (such as Golang, Rust, C, C++, etc.) to automate systems.
•Be engaged, proactive, and positive when taking on challenging tasks, owning assignments, and taking accountability for personal and overall team success.
