We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setup, management, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong technical expertise, and the ability to lead IT projects alongside existing system administrator. The Senior System Administrator will also be responsible for implementing new cloud technologies with VMWare VCF and Google Cloud and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain VMware VCF infrastructure, including vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and SDDC Manager
Configure and support cloud connectivity (primarily GCP) including VPNs, IAM, compute, and storage services
Manage Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server systems, including patching, hardening, and automation
Implement and monitor enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., HP Data Protector, Veeam, Commvault)
Maintain proactive system monitoring and alerting using tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, or vRealize Operations
Administer and support HPE ProLiant servers and components (iLO, Smart Array, firmware updates)
Collaborate with security and network teams to enforce compliance, firewall rules, and access policies
Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of system administration experience in enterprise environments Strong Hands-on experience of VMware vSphere and VCF architecture
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration
Familiar with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, etc) and risk mitigation
Hands-on experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., HP Data Protector, Veeam, Veritas)
Strong knowledge of system and network monitoring tools
Experience managing HPE server hardware, firmware, and diagnostics
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: VLANs, subnets, VPNs, firewalls
Proficiency with Scripting and automation tools (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
Proficiency with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipeline creation and management.

This role has a hybrid work environment, requiring the contractor to be on site 2 days per week (Monday, Wednesday) at the Acronym office located at 65 Kelfield St., Etobicoke., ON.
