Senior Staff Accountant

Overview

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial activities of Electrical District No 2. The responsibility of the Senior Accountant will be to prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, ensure adherence to FERC and GAAP, and supervise junior staff. The senior staff accountant must have strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least five years’ experience in a similar role.

Job Responsibilities

· Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports

· Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements

· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures

· Monitor and evaluate internal controls and accounting systems

· Coordinate and assist with annual audit

· Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies

· Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff accountants

· Provide accounting guidance and support to management and other departments

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in accounting is required

· Minimum of five years of accounting experience

· Proficiency in accounting software

· Advanced knowledge of GAAP

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

· Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
