Job Overview

The R&D Electrical Technician will be someone with a solid baseline of experience in electrical fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting. They will have had experience in an R&D environment beyond just circuit board work. They will be experienced in working on high voltage and large electrical equipment and will have a demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety. We are searching for a well-organized, reliable technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

- Repairing and qualifying electronics, inverters, load banks

- Building enclosure for electrical power systems with electrical engineers, following work instructions

- You will run software, as well as set up hardware and use browser based apps to perform tests and run equipment and troubleshoot with various levels of documentation.

Qualifications

- 4 to 6+ years electro-mechanical technician experience

- Demonstrated hands on ability to visually detect electrical defects/non-conformances of materials, determine solutions, and repair them in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience using hand tools (drivers, saws, wire crimpers, etc.)

- Demonstrated technical computer system knowledge (office suites, Terminal/Command line, managing files, etc.)

- Vocational certificate or equivalent preferred.

- Strong verbal & written communication skills demonstrated in a team environment

- Conduct mechanical inspections of deployed units, documenting condition information for use by our team for debugging or troubleshooting

- Installing heavy equipment with high voltage and working outdoors

- Demonstrated ability to build electrical enclosures with limited documentation

- Capable of software deployment and electrical box configuration

This position is 

onsite

at our Menlo Park HQ. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee. Along with the base salary, Mainspring offers pre-IPO stock options + benefits.
