Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer – Quality to join our Aerospace division and play a pivotal role in driving excellence across quality engineering initiatives. This position demands a hands-on technical leader with strong expertise in electronic manufacturing, root cause analysis, and compliance within regulated environments. The successful candidate will collaborate directly with customers, cross-functional teams, and leadership to ensure that all quality objectives are achieved while advancing continuous improvement and operational performance.

Responsibilities

- Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and oversee quality engineering projects with significant business and customer impact, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and achievement of technical objectives.

- Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge in electronics (soldering, circuit boards, manufacturing troubleshooting) to resolve production issues and validate product performance.

- Quality Systems & Compliance: Drive compliance with AS9145 (APQP/PPAP), SPC methodologies, and applicable aerospace/automotive regulatory standards. Lead audits, customer reviews, and quality surveys.

- Problem Solving & Improvement: Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions, leveraging Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to reduce variability, improve processes, and ensure consistent product quality.

- Customer Engagement: Serve as a customer-facing subject matter expert, presenting findings, technical updates, and recommendations with clarity and confidence.

- Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives that enhance supplier quality, productivity, and organizational capability through training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, and management teams to ensure alignment of quality objectives with business goals.

Required Qualifications

- Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

- Experience:

8+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, preferably within aerospace, automotive, or similarly regulated industries.

- Technical Skills & Certifications:

- Strong background in electronics manufacturing processes and troubleshooting

- Proficiency in SPC, APQP, PPAP, and AS9145 standards

- Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred)

- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and industry-standard quality tools

- Comprehensive understanding of ISO9000 and related quality system frameworks

- Leadership & Soft Skills:

- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with strong customer-facing acumen

- Analytical mindset with expertise in data-driven decision-making
