Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Quality Engineer opportunity in Ogden, UT.
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
This position is for a Quality Engineer who will support the project engineering team to drive overall quality and alignment of execution strategy across different work-fronts and construction execution approaches. The position will be based to the Quality Engineering discipline and will include monitoring of alignment to project engineering procedures, reviewing of documents prior to delivery, and involvement with the project quality and corrective action programs. The successful candidate must have strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, proven problem-solving abilities, and a can-do attitude.
- Coordinate job activities across different engineering work-fronts to ensure consistent approach and delivery
- Obtains inputs and technical information from senior engineers across multiple disciplines for use in completing tasks
- Reviews project engineering procedures to ensure alignment with Client corporate and NS&EGBU procedures, contract requirements, and applicable codes and standards
- Develop and present training on procedures, miscellaneous policies and instructions for engineering personnel
- Identify, prepare and report project engineering quality metrics and associated trends
- Prepare and issue of engineering quality reports
- Present quality reports to Client Management and customer personnel.
- Participate in project quality surveillances and audits
- Coordinate Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) program project initiatives with project engineering personnel
- Attend Condition Report Review Committee (CRRC) meetings as the engineering point of contact
- Promote Condition Reporting and Lessons Learned programs, available in the DevonWay (or similar) application
- Monitor timely closure of engineering condition reports and associated actions.
- Communicate quality issues to the engineering team in the form of positive feedback and lessons learned
- Coordinate with client representatives, as required
- Lead small engineering task group(s), as required
- Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- Level 2: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- Experience developing engineering work procedures to quality assurance programs such as NQA-1 or AS9100
- Ability to analyze trends and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement
- Extensive experience in a single engineering discipline and significant cross-discipline coordination experience.
- Prior experience managing and implementing a closed-loop corrective action system
- Prior experience in engineering for construction projects
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate must have strong organizational skills
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft 365 application suite
- Experience in engineering procedure and/or instruction preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications Power-BI, Access, and SharePoint
- Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense (preferred)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
