We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This position requires a deep understanding of quality management systems and a commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The Senior Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective quality assurance strategies and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead project to launch new Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure long-lasting success.
- Lead project to bring company up to ISO 9001 standards wherever gaps exist.
- Own and maintain inspection procedures/results and issue Quality Alerts as necessary.
- Own, maintain, and track customer returns for warranty and non-warranty issues.
- Create, review, and update quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and test protocols.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Partner with design and production teams to identify potential quality risks early in the development process.
- Develop and execute quality control plans for new product introductions and process changes.
- Performinternal audits and support external audits by regulatory bodies and customers.
- Provide training and support to production staff regarding quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, reduce defects, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Track quality related KPIs including but not limited to COPQ, FPY, scrap, and returns.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred
- Familiarity with industry best practices such as: IATF 16949 ISO 9001 * IPC standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 a plus)- Proven track record of designing, implementing, and scaling a Quality Management System (QMS) from inception, including document control, process ownership, training, and compliance oversight.
- Strong knowledge of automotive industry best practices and quality standards.
- Strong understanding ofelectronic assemblies and related inspection methods.
- Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, PPAP, APQP and other quality tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally.
