Performs internal and external engineering document review for the purpose of assuring all customer contractual items regarding product quality are met. This individual has accept/reject authority over documents presented for review and may provide guidance to other individuals in the organization to ensure acceptable compliance to customer contract. This individual may be asked to represent the Jedco Quality organization during internal or external review functions regarding product quality, including product process development and/or non-conformance investigation. Communicates directly to Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and other individuals in the Jedco organization and Customer representatives as required.
· Review customer and internal documents as required to assure manufacturing processes are in compliance with all applicable regulatory, customer, contractual or accreditation body standards. Places signature, or other mark, on these documents to signify review and acceptance.
· Prepare and deliver PPAP documentation per customer requirements.
· Facilitate internal document revisions, additions or subtractions with applicable departments/personnel as directed by VP of Quality or as a result of individual research or discovery.
· Review and assist in the disposition of non-conforming material working directly with production departments to create and provide rework or quality instructions.
· Initiate external document requests when applicable through review of invoked requirements.
· Attend and provide support to new product review and development as required.
· Create or oversee the creation of Quality plans for use during manufacturing process verification/validation including First Article, Inspection Method Sheets (IMS) and statistical plans as required.
· Create or oversee the creation of customer documents for the purpose of communicating found non-conformances for customer review/disposition.
· Lead and manage corrective actions for customer, supplier and internal issues in a timely manner.
· Creates or oversees the creation of customer documents for the purpose of communicating non-conformance Corrective Action for customer review/disposition.
· Oversees the performance of delegated Quality related studies or functions (non-conformance investigation, gage R&R, etc.).
· Maintains reporting, management and distribution of data associated with product quality as applicable to regulatory, customer, contractual or accreditation body standards.
· Strong communication skills; Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and customer/suppliers.
· Working knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and systems.
· Excellent problem-solving capabilities using 8D and other methodologies.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Experience with manufacturing Lean and Six Sigma principles.
· Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
· Solid nderstanding of core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
· Knowledge of blueprint reading, drawing interpretation, and GD&T.
· Working experience with basic quality measurement tools including hand gauges, micrometers and other testing equipment.
· Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
· Physically tracking parts on the manufacturing floor.
