Become a Senior Manager of Demand Response Systems and Pilot Programs at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow.

In this dynamic role, you'll lead the charge in overseeing innovative demand response systems and pilot programs that ensure grid reliability and sustainability. You'll spearhead a talented team, designing and implementing cutting-edge pilots while managing systems that dispatch programs crucial for grid stability. Your continuous improvement skills will be key in evaluating program systems & performance, recommending enhancements, and fostering innovation in demand response solutions. As part of the specialized Customer Solutions group, you'll report directly to the Principal Manager of Demand Response Products and have high visibility with executive management. You'll collaborate regularly with key business partners, Directors, VP-level stakeholders, and external partners to optimize strategies and elevate customer engagement.

Responsibilities

Develops long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management competency

Cultivates relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve operational excellence
Drive adoption of innovative project management methodologies and approaches
Directs project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources to advance key initiatives
Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients
Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables
Manages related workforce planning, budget analysis, and budget forecasts; Develops and manages department expense budget, regularly monitors expenses against forecast, providing explanation or justification for budget items and variances
Manages projects and monitors progress in an ordered, accurate way and provides accurate and timely information; Drives regular project reviews, monitoring the progress and results of all ongoing projects and acts upon action points to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Develops, monitors, and updates the project cash flow and financial forecasts; Manages project portfolio delivery and ensures the quality of delivery across a range of enterprise programs specified by function
Builds business cases and project justifications for stakeholders; Drives SCE's project planning and scenario development, aligning project assumptions with operational plans, project timelines, budgets and related resources allocations
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.


Minimum Qualifications

Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.

Experience developing long-term vision and strategic roadmaps of projects.
Experience in project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources.


Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.
5 or more years of experience in demand response, energy management, or utility operations.
5 or more years of experience with pilot program design, implementation, and evaluation.
Strategic leadership experience in leading a team through system development, driving end-to-end implementation from initial concept to full deployment.
Experience in load management technologies and systems.
Experience in developing strategies to enhance customer participation in programs & services.
Demonstrated experience in driving innovation and continuous improvement in initiatives.


Additional Information

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Irwindale. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
