Role Overview
The Senior Technical Service Engineering Manager is a leader in our Technical Project Managers groups. The overarching goal is to provide oversight on technical engineering projects to enable Mitsubishi Power to be the first in class large frame Gas Turbine service provider. The Senior Technical Service Engineering Manager also provides technical engineering leadership for Mitsubishi Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines and Steam Turbine auxiliaries, and Generators. Project leadership includes but is not limited to continuous improvement, root cause and corrective action activities, Engineering Support Requests (ESRs), Non-conformance Reports (NCRs), improvement of fleet reliability, availability, and maintainability to reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide direct supervision, mentorship, coaching, and performance management for a team of Technical Project Managers
•Identify training and development needs within the team and facilitate opportunities for professional growth.
•Oversee the portfolio of technical projects managed by the team, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and priorities.
•Review and approve project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
•Provide guidance and support to Project Managers in resolving complex technical and project-related challenges.
•Serve as a point of escalation for project-related issues and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
•Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and resource needs.
•Provide regular updates and reports on the overall status of the technical project portfolio to senior management.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in the following Engineering Fields: Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace.
•10+ years of previous experience with leading large projects in the gas/steam turbines, controls, auxiliaries and tuning power generation solutions. Technical experience in rotating equipment (ideally energy industry or heavy duty gas turbines). Outage palnning and service for heavy duty gast turbine or steam turbines in a combined cyled power plant environment desired.
•Hands on experience of analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to drive strategic insights and inform high-level decision-making for project success.
•Expertise monitoring team capacity and proactively addressing resource allocation constraints.
•History of establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and efficiency of technical project delivery.
•Ability to analyze project data and generate reports on team performance and project outcomes.
•Manage projects using software solutions using solutions such as WindChill, MS Project, or equivalent solution.
•Identify trends and insights to inform strategic decision-making and process improvements.
•Lead onboarding and training of technical project managers for greater efficiency in delivery
•Ability to travel up to 30% Domestic and International and could be for a few weeks at a time.
