The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.
This senior-level position will be based in Portland, Oregon. Other Avangrid office locations on a in person schedule considered. The Senior Manager Document Control reports to the Director of Process and Compliance and leads the Document Control function within the Onshore Renewables Project Delivery organization. The Senior Manager oversees document control systems across all phases of project delivery—pre-construction, construction, and post-construction—ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
The role manages a team responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, supporting tax equity processes, and coordinating responses for multiple trackers in collaboration with all Onshore teams. It also includes training staff on digital tools and ensuring data compliance across departments.
- Supervise and mentor a team of document control professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Creating and maintaining internal departmental procedures.
- Lead the document control function across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with internal and external standards.
- Oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of digital tools and systems used for document management and project collaboration.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for audits and compliance reviews related to document control and data governance
- Creating standards for project documentation procedures.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate documentation for tax equity and compliance purposes.
- Maintaining quality management on all department functions.- Expediting drawings and documents per project requirements.
- Monitoring all drawing and documentation requirements due from vendors, contractors and project team as outlined by pre-set schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Expediting and compiling documentation as submitted by the contractor.
- Implementation of all project specifications as required on individual projects.
- Daily coaching and mentoring of safety awareness.
- Interfacing and collaboration with Senior Management, Project Management and Contractor
- Devising methods for improving quality and productivity.
- Communicating to management the status of projects and departmental requirements.
- Bachelor’s or associate Degree in technology, and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience required.
- 10+ years of broad-based experience in the energy industry and contract/project management.
- Demonstrated experience working in a large multi-faceted utility organization with varying goals, customers and stakeholders
- Reconciliation of EDMS systems, FTP and archiving of project originals.
- Experience with Procore or other similar Document Control Software’s
- Proven experience managing document control for large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Proven ability to work in a complex environment with many competing priorities and stakeholder demands.
- Strong business orientation and excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Experience with FTP and DMS such as Procore, ACONEX, etc.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and Power Point.
- Self-starter that can work independently and motivate internal and external resources to meet key project deliverables. Particularly interested in "can-do" attitude and a passion for commercial success.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across multi-functional teams and with senior management.
