Job Summary:
Phoenix Energy seeks an experienced and detail-oriented in-house Sr. Landman to join its Operating Department. The successful candidate will be critical in supporting land-related operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing land assets to facilitate exploration, drilling, and production activities. This position requires a strong understanding of mineral rights, lease agreements, and operational workflows within the oil industry and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
•
Development Support: Collaborate with and assist geologists, engineers, regulatory and surface landmen, and other stake holders to support drilling and production plans.
•
Contract Review: Work closely with legal to draft and negotiate contracts such as exchange agreements, farmouts, assignments, and joint operating agreements (JOAs).
•
Title Research: Support in managing team members, brokers, and attorneys, to secure title opinions and curative work in a timely fashion to ensure proper revenue payment and JIB processing.
•
Lease Management: Work alongside Lease Administration to manage oil and gas leases, to confirm accurate lease records, rental payments, and obligations, articulating expiration timelines to the development team for planning efforts.
•
Data Management: Assist Lease Administration in maintaining and updating land databases, and other records to ensure accurate tracking of acreage, ownership, lease status, and contract payments.
•
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with landowners, government agencies, and internal teams to resolve issues, negotiate agreements, and foster positive relationships.
•
Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
•
Travel: Occasional travel to field locations and/or commission hearings, as needed.

Requirements:
•
Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
•
Proficiency in the land management software BOLO
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
